The Dogs Frolics | About The Food | Why You Should Feed A Good Quality Food
It's a well known fact you are what you eat. This applies not only to us but our dogs and cats. Feeding your dog or cat a quality complete food can add years to their life, keep them out of the vets, make them nicer to live with and be cheaper ! Do any of these apply to your pet ?A dull coat ?Overweight ?Underweight ?Scratching all the time ?Biting it's feet/back end/scratching it's ears ?Toileting problems ?Far too much energy ?Lethargic ?Off it's food ?Bad breath ?Doggy or Moggy smell ? If you answered yes to any of above questions, a change of diet could help. All the dry complete food we sell is scientifically balanced, using years of research. As the food is kibbled and all pieces of kibble are the same size, you know there are the same balance of nutrients in every kibble, you cannot guarantee this with food that is different shapes, such as fish or bone shapes, or flaked food. Our brands contain "real" ingredients. The kind you would buy yourself from the supermarket. There are no "derivatives of a vegetable origin" or "animal by products in our foods." Dry food scrubs the teeth as it is crunched and helps to keep them clean and also prevents "doggy (or moggy!) breath" ! Canned food in contrast is wet and usually sticky because of added sugars for preservatives and palatability. This leaves a coating on your pet's teeth which leads to a build up of tartar if not cleaned off. Dry food also allows the dog to choose how much water it wants to drink rather than force feeding it 80% water every time eats a can of dog food. Our kibble is all one colour. Colour is added to make an unpalatable food look appetizing, but as dogs are colour blind they cannot see the green "peas" and orange pieces of "carrot" in dog food. This is there to make it look like a "tasty Sunday dinner" and appeal to YOU as a dog owner. Dogs and cats don't care about colour. You are also putting harmful artificial colourings into your dog. Flavourings and artificial preservatives are also added to some lower quality foods. The same principles apply to the treats, with the exception of a few "naughty" treats (even dogs are allowed to have naughty food!). For example Nutro Tartar Control biscuits are formulated to clean your dogs teeth, used together with regular brushing these can help prevent many costly visits to the vet for dental treatment. James Wellbeloved Crackerjacks are made to the same high standard from totally natural ingredients. These are suitable for even the most sensitive tummies and also contain mixed herbs to further benefit your dog. This food sounds great ? - but you can't afford it ? Take a look below and surprise yourself ! Don't forget most supermarkets don't sell 15kg bags so this means two trips for you. Or picking up small bags more frequently. Why do that when you can have decent food delivered right to your door for no extra cost !
